The Unstoppable Keith Briggs
Forget about Kyle Busch when it comes to racing domination
this year. When it comes to Ocala Speedway, no one in the mini
stock division can stop Keith Briggs. The mini stock class has raced 11 times
this year. Briggs has ten wins. That's domination. And it doesn't look like anyone has
figured out how to catch his white, 19-T car yet. Briggs has won the last three weeks at Ocala Speedway
and has appeared strong enough to lap the field if there were no cautions.
Briggs' unmatched strength has led many to believe that his car is illegal, that Briggs is somehow
cheating for an unfair advantage. But Ocala Speedway spokesman B.J. Calvin said the track's
inspectors have found nothing out of place.
Briggs took his adversaries to task on a local racing board, challenging all takers with the
insistence that he is just better. For now, that is exactly the case.
"This car is dialed in, I mean, it just hooks up," he said after winning at Ocala
Speedway July 18. "It's unbelievable. "I live for coming here on Friday nights."
At this rate, he'll need to miss a few weeks while he builds a bigger trophy room.

Weather Holds Off For A Full Night Of Racing At Ocala Speedway!
07/25/2008

What a night! There wasn't a big field of Mini Stocks that showed up tonight ( We think the anticipation of wet weather was a
concern ) but that doesn't mean it wasn't action filled.
There would only be one heat race tonight so that meant all three Xtreme Racing cars would be competing against each other for
their position in the feature event.

The green flag would fall on the heat race with the 14 of Frank Prouty starting in the second row inside, the 19T of Keith Briggs in
the third row inside and the 26 of Kristopher Prouty on the fourth row outside. Half way through the heat race the 26 would again
find himself having problems with his car. His J bar had broke allowing the rear end to rotate which broke both rear-end shocks,
allowing the whole body to ride on the back tires. This would take Kristopher out for the entire night. The 14 of Frank Prouty was
holding his own even though he had a very ill handling car at this point and just wanted to do its own thing. The 19T of Keith Briggs
would battle Paul Combast in the 19. Paul holding onto the lead until 2 laps to go when he came out of turn 4 and hit a big hole
that was in the track which allowed Keith to get under him and take the lead and the heat race win.

It's Now Feature Time!!

On the pole of the feature would be the 14 of Frank Prouty and starting in 8th position would be the 19T of Keith Briggs. Its lap one
and Frank in the 14 has got his hands full of steering wheel coming out of turn 2 the right front is hit by the 55 Frank is trying to get
the car recovered and straightened back out now coming down the back stretch he is now trying to stay off the wall with no avail in
the meantime Paul Combast in the 19 try's to get around Frank on the outside but is collected by Frank in the 14 both drivers find
themselves trying to keep from climbing the concrete wall but it just didn't work out that way. This would bring out the cauction so
that both cars could be taken off the track by tow trucks. Now it's left up to the 19T of Keith Briggs to try and bring home a victory
for Xtrme Racing. As the laps were winding down Keith was holding tight to the 21 in second position and then with about 8 laps to
go Keith was able to overtake the 21 for the lead. Once past the 21 Keith would start to stretch on the field and once again see the
double checkered flags and bring home a victory for Xtreme Racing!!!

OK folks we went back to Ocala Speedway and what a night it was! We ended up getting to the track late because our jobs have to
come first (so that we can earn enough money to play with the race cars). The late arrival made it tough to set up all three cars in
time for the heats and to top it off our division would be the first to hit the track leaving us no time to spare. It was a very hot
evening in Ocala which made matters worse. With that being said lets begin, the first heat race started the 14 driven by Frank on
the pole and the 26 driven by Kristopher in the 4th position. Kristopher in the 26 maintained his position and finished 4th and
Frank in the 14 fought a loose car and brought home a 5th place finish. The second heat race started the 19T of Keith in the 6th
position as he was able to wheel his way to a 2nd place finish.

Now off to the main event. The feature started the 26 on the outside pole, the 19T in 5th, and the 14 in 9th. This is where the fun
begins, on the first lap Kristopher in the 26 was slammed by the #3 leaving the left front with a broken strut, bent a-arm, and no
brakes disabling his car for the evening. On lap 12 another caution would fly for the driver of the #55 stopped in turn 1, as the field
slowed the 14 went up in a plume of white smoke ending his chances for a victory. It was soon discovered that the motor for the 14
had threw a rod adding to the frustration for the evening. The only Xtreme car left on the track at this point is the 19T of Keith
Briggs who at this time had a firm grip on the lead despite carburetor problems. Keith would see the double checkered flags on lap
15 and bring home another victory for Xtreme Racing and his 6th win for the season.

Xtreme Racing has their work cut out for them this week but will return to Ocala Speedway on the 18th for another night of racing!

It is sure good to be back racing again after a long time away do to the weather. On July the 5th we decided to venture to another
track because weather had not allowed us to race at Ocala Speedway. We ventured to Putnam County Speedway in Satsuma
Florida for a night of racing. We had trouble before we even paid to get in the gate. For folks that don't know Putnam County
Speedway its like a home town track for a lot of local guys and when new cars or teams show up they get rather upset and
Saturday July 5th was no exception. While standing at the pit gate in line waiting to pay our fee to enter the track the first thing that
was said by another team in our division was well we know that car isn't legal. This was just the start of a long night.
Tonight we had three cars in the Mini stock division and all eyes were on us being the new team on the block to come to the local
guys track. With that being said I just wanted to add that this would be the largest car count with all divisions Putnam County
Speedway would have seen so far this year. We were able to see a lot of drivers and friends we hadn't seen in a long time ( we
raced this track last year for those that don't know this) so that was a good thing. All three cars the 19t driven by Keith Briggs, the
14 driven by Frank Prouty and the 26 driven by Kristopher Prouty were ready for a fun night of racing. The heat races would go
well with all three cars finishing with no problems the 19t would win his heat race with the 14 finishing in 5th in the same one. The
26 would start 5th in heat race and thats were he would finish that was a great accomplishment for Kristopher since this was the
first time he was ever in a race car.
Because Keith in the 19t had won his heat race he decided to take there 8 ball challenge which means he would start in 8th
position on the feature and if he won the race there was an additional $225.00 added to the winnings. Well its now feature time and
the field is lining up there was a few cars that weren't able to make it to the feature so the cars were just riding around the track
and we seen that Keith in the 19t was not in eight place to start so the field of cars were stop so that he could be put in the proper
spot. When he took off the car jumped and then he went off the field he had lost the transmission he would not be able to even
start the race. The 14 & 26 did a great job tonight Frank in the 14 would come in 7th and Kristopher in the 26 would come in 8th.
After the feature event for th Mini Stock Division there was a surprise award given. Craig Stern from Florida Flag Stand would come
up to the pit stands and tell Keith in the 19t that they needed to push him in his car to the front stretch on the track. Of course
Keith said why do you want to push my broke car to the front stretch? Craig Stern at this time said don't worry about it just do it
please. So Keith went back and got in the 19t and was pushed to the front. Keith was met there by Richard Tipton ( North Florida
Speedway Flagger ) where Richard presented Keith with the driver of the month award on behalf of Florida Flag Stand and
Shamrock Auto Exchange Inc ( Selling with Honesty ) located @ 2005 Reid Street in Palatka, Florida 386-325-5733. This is an
honor to receive. On behalf of Xtreme Racing we would like to say thank you to everyone involved ( and if I have missed anyone
call me please and I will fix the write up ) Craig Stern with Florida Flag Stand, Richard Tipton, Shamrock Auto Exchange Inc,
Madonna Dowling, Denise Strehle,BJ & Cindy Cavin.

Thanks to everyone for a very memorable evening.

What an exciting night of racing! We had our share of problems once again. It started right off with Frank the driver of the number
14 in his heat race breaking his steering shaft and Keith the driver of the 19t having carburetor problems. We were not able to fix
Frank's problem to get him back on the track for the feature but we were able to get Keith's car fixed in time. Keith started in the
second row inside just behind the 19c of Paul Combast. At the start of the race Keith and Cole ( # 25 ) headed for the front of the
pack. They raced a very tight race between the two of them lap after lap neither driver giving an inch. On lap 15 Keith was trying to
pass lap cars ( # 22 of Shirlene Hammond & #55 of Larry Reynolds ) when the number 22 decided she didn't like the lane she was
in and came down into Keith's car on the passengers side which made half of his car air born ( showing the spectators in the stand
the underneath of his car ) but he never let out of the gas and continued on his journey to try and win the race. At lap 18 Keith and
Cole still battling for the lead came into turns 1 & 2 where Cole decided he wanted to show Keith he was still right there. Cole hit
Keith and Keith spun out. Keith was able to get his spot back and Cole was sent back to fourth position ( this was because all the
rest of the field had already been lapped ). Cole managed to get back to second place and  Keith brought home another win for
the Xtreme Racing Team!!!

It was another really good night for Xtreme Racing. We still had some heating issues but I think we will be able to solve that
problem. It was really nice seeing alot of friends and making some new ones. The night started out a little intense for me that is now
having two Mini Stocks on the track I was really nervous. Keith in the 19T and now Frank in the 14. Keith and Frank were both in
the same heat race and Keith in the 19T finished 1st and Frank in the 14 finished 5th. So we were off to a good start. When the
line ups were posted on the board it showed Frank in the 14 to start on the pole for the feature and Keith in the 19T was to start
8th. Frank decided that he wanted to start in the back of the field because this was the first time in a Mini Stock, the first time on
this track and he had never drove this car. Keith had his hands full with the number 21 and the number 25 they did not give him an
inch. After half way through the feature event Keith was finally able to over come the number 25 by taking him on the outside which
only left the number 21 in front of him at this point. Meanwhile Frank was doing real well feeling his car out and keeping up with the
pack of cars. With about 7 laps to go Keith was finally able to take the lead away from the 21 and held onto the lead to take the
checkered flag. Frank finished in 8th position which was excellent considering he also had an overheating problem. In the end
Xtreme Racing had a wonderful night.
